The Hobbit Movie Trailer, My Precious! Posted at 11:32 AM by Dave Post

OK, this just totally sneaked up on me, gollum, gollum! I’m not sure it starts out very strong but by the time the dwarves started singing I squeed like a little girl.

There is a lot to see in this trailer too. Galadriel and Gandalf consulting about Dul Guldor in Southern Mirkwood? Flashes of some key adventures like the trolls and Rivendell and a dwarf covered in spider webs. I really love the look of the dwarves here. I always pictured them more homogeneous so I like that they all seem to have their own look and personalities.

Very excited to see this coming together after the rough start. What say you?

NEXT DECEMBER?!?! GAH!! Was that Ron Weasley’s dad playing Bilbo Baggins?

I thought they gave us some interesting glimpses. The Dul Guldor storyline is essential to linking the films. I thought they gave us a taste of humor since you do have 13 dwarves to deal with. And Thorin. Not bad for a dwarf that’s over a hundred. But since dwarfs live over 200, we must be seeing Thorin in his prime. And that song. As slow and as heavy as a dirge. The year will pass quickly. They usually do.

Love it! Love the song! But NEXT December only? That’s a looong wait.

You realize that if this comes out on December 14, 2012, according to the Mayan calendar we will all have only one week to see it.

I suspect anyone who visits WWEnd will likely be seeing The Hobbit the day it comes out so the Mayans won’t spoil that party.
