Logan | Official Trailer
Logan has seen some shit and it has taken it’s toll on him. I really like where they’re going with this. Long-term consequences are not often portrayed in superhero movies. Here we’re going to see just what years of superhero-ing can do to a man. I’m wondering if his healing powers are on the wane with all those scars on display. And the Professor does not look too good either. They both look rode hard and put up wet and the Johnny Cash song plays perfectly to emphasize the decay and remorse. Can’t wait.

Cash is doing a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song. What I find cool about that, is that Cash was still out there, still looking over the music scene for things that he liked and thought he could do well. And this was in his later years.
Yeah. Looks good. The last one, I think, disappointed. I keep waiting for the Logan vs. 10K ninjas scene and didn’t get it.
As far as I can tell, this series has completely jumped the shark. I’m pretty sure Professor X was killed by the Dark Phoenix in one of these movie, and yet there he is in the new movie. I am so confused, and when I get confused I want to punch things, Just. Like. Logan.
The movie does look cool, but does this mean I will have to go back and watch all the young x-men movies to know what the heck is going on?
@badseedgirl I don’t want to spoil the details if you haven’t watched First Class/Days of Future Past, but after those movies I think that it is not nonsensical for Professor X to be around in Logan :).
I have higher hopes for this one than the other Wolverine movies. I think it looks really good, though it has an unexpected festival-film vibe.
@badseedgirl – Ah, a girl after my own heart! When I get confused I want to punch things too. 😉
@Glenn – I understand that Trent Reznor was really excited that Johnny Cash wanted to cover his song. Then he heard it and said, “Well; I’ll never be able to perform that one again!” (But he was still pleased; I mean, who wouldn’t be?) I can’t imagine a better track to convey the mood.
I’m excited about this one, actually. I guess the studio heard the criticism from the last one, which left a whole bunch of stuff on the cutting room floor (figuratively rather than literally these days) because they thought that kids might not want to watch the movie because of all the dark PTSD stuff, so they ditched it.
Of course, any fan knows that PTSD is an essential part of Logan’s character.
Have they finally figured out (after Deadpool) that it’s not little kids who are watching these movies, do you think?
