Boneshaker, China Mieville, and The Windup Girl are the novels that have a chance to join the science-fiction cannon. Each of them are nominated for the 2009 Nebula. If they win that and this 2010 Hugo they’ll be the 20th novel to do so.

Well, his name is freakin’ ginormous on that cover! You know you’ve made it as a writer when they put your name up larger than the title.

I’m reading Boneshaker right now and have the others lined up to read before I vote for the Hugos this year. So far Boneshaker is a very good book. I usually don’t like steampunk books, but this one is a pretty good one. This is the first thing that I have read for Cherie Priest.
