I’m fairly enthused by this. I have read all of the books except for the most recent one. At first I was worried when I saw the trailer for two reasons: first, they’re pretty expansive books and unless handled with care it would be easy to run rough shod right over many of the important bits. Also, at first I thought it might be a theatrical release, which means if there wasn’t a popular taste for it the first book might be the only one to get made into a film. So I was happy to see that HBO was taking it up. I don’t read much fantasy, but I’ve put a lot of time into getting through Martin’s epic, so I’m excited about it.

It does look really, really good.
