2012 British Fantasy Awards
The 2012 British Fantasy Awards were presented yesterday, September 30th, at FantasyCon in Brighton, England. This year the award has been split into two awards in the best Novel category: The Robert Holdstock Award for best fantasy novel and The August Derleth Award for best horror novel.
The Robert Holdstock Award: Among Others by Jo Walton (Tor, 2011)
The August Derleth Award: The Ritual by Adam Nevill (Pan Macmillan, 2011)

Oh, dear. The Holdstock Award? Does that mean the Derleth Award is retroactively a horror award this whole time? The universe conspires to confuse our database structure.
Yeah, it’s more than a little confusing all the way around. We’re still trying to work out how we’re going to represent the shift to 2 awards on the site. Probably just display the specific award name under each winner from here on out. I’ll look at it this week and see what we can do to make it not confusing.
